Our Philosophy

All Tic-tac-toe children will experience a fun, caring and safe environment that will encourage learning at their own pace.

You will be embraced and become part of our Tic-tac-toe family/whanau and we encourage you to become involved in your child’s learning journey in partnership with us.

Individuality is respected and fostered and we work to discover your child’s interests and utilise this knowledge to extend their learning through following the emergent curriculum, Te Whariki.

Teachers focus on developing your child’s life skills such as communication, social skills, self-help, empathy and friendships.

We are committed to the principles surrounding Te Tiriti o Waitangi and have a strong commitment to bicultural practice. We recognise our children come from a diverse range of religious and cultural environments therefore we welcome, affirm and celebrate cultural differences.

We are a healthy eating centre and all meals provided are nutritious and tasty to build healthy bodies and minds. We support all families to develop healthy eating habits.

At Tic-tac-toe children will be encouraged to be involved in our community, experiencing their surroundings by having local outings and walks. This empowers our children and gives them a sense of belonging.
