Our Philosophy

All Tic-tac-toe children will experience a fun, caring and safe environment that will encourage learning at their own pace and with others.

Individuality is respected and fostered . We work to discover your child’s interests and utilise this knowledge to extend their learning, using Te Whariki as our foundation.

We offer equitable learning opportunities for every child. Teachers focus on developing children’s life skills such as communication, social skills, self-help, empathy and friendships.

We recognise the uniqueness of Te Tiriti o Waitangi as well as the diverse cultural heritage of Aotearoa. We welcome, affirm and celebrate cultural differences children bring into our centre and we have a strong commitment to multi-cultural practice.

We are a healthy eating centre and all meals provided are nutritious and tasty to build healthy bodies and minds. We support all families to develop healthy eating habits.

At Tic-tac-toe, we value our strong ties to our local community. Children will be encouraged to be involved in experiencing their surroundings by having local outings and walks to grow their sense of belonging. We also encourage our families/ whānau to become involved in your child’s learning journey in partnership with us.
