Life Skills

We involve our tamariki in every aspect including unpacking groceries, dishwasher, sweeping, vege picking and growing, baking, washing and folding etc. This creates a home like feel and gives the children a sense of belonging and partnership with each other and the teachers.

Children love to help and prepare our day and clean up at the end of the day. The strong routines that we have developed in our centres offer our children security and involvement at all levels. Our teachers here feel very strongly about the value and importance of life skills and children learning through role modelling and play.

Pretend Play is also a huge love at Tic-tac-toe. This type of play has so many benefits for our children and builds their confidence, social skills, early literacy, empathy, creativity and so much more.
