Yafei Zhang

Kia ora! Ko Yafei tōku ingoa. I am a passionate early childhood teacher from China, and a proud graduate of the University of Waikato. My teaching philosophy is rooted in ako, where tamariki and kaiako grow together in a whanaungatanga environment.
I believe learning begins through play, exploration, and meaningful connections. In our classroom, we embrace manaakitanga (kindness and respect) and wairuatanga (spiritual well-being), ensuring every child feels valued and empowered. Drawing from Te Whāriki’s principles, I foster kaitiakitanga (guardianship of knowledge) and a love for diversity.
